It was the 116th Big Game and football fans from both CAL and Stanford were ready for a spirited sports challenge. This year, Stanford hosted the game on a sunny balmy afternoon at the Stanford Stadium. As we walked on Arboretum towards Galves Street, my hubby wondered what it would have been like if we had a paella tailgate. The sun was gently warming the skies. No wind. Clear day. Yes, it would have been just perfect for a paella tailgate. Next time. Maybe.
We headed up the steps to find our seats and were just wowed by the scene right before us. The Big Game could not have been held on a better day. The University looked so beautiful framed by clear blue skies.

For those of you who heard the news, Stanford won the game with a wide margin. Sometime on the third quarter, news of Arizona’s victory over Oregon was announced. This was met with vociferous cheering and applause from the Cardinal fans. Yes, we get another chance to qualify for the Rose Bowl after all!
Way to go, Stanford! We get to keep the axe again.
Fun and exciting. Awesome photo effects and colors.

Beautiful photos Mary-Ann. I am not much of a football fan, but I attend matches more for the atmosphere! But I have been brushing up on soccer a bit just to be able to converse with the grandson 😀
