I’ve been thinking about Michelle W.’s Daily Prompt: Bone of Contention a few days ago. I feel passionate about a lot of issues and challenges. But not too long ago, I’ve written a post on something that has gotten me all riled up that although things have come a long way, we still have a long way to go. Click here to see the post. Don’t forget to watch the video.

It’s should go without saying that women should have the right to decide for themselves. And it should go without saying that they should be able to feel safe everywhere they go. The sad reality is that it’s not the case. We – both men and women – must stand up and do whatever we can to change this injustice. Thank you for focusing on this important issue on your blog.

Thank you for your support, Otto. I will continue to call attention to this travesty until such time that real change comes. My only fear is that the cause will outlive me.

You might be right, but it’s important to keep calling attention to the cause. One day…

I read your post and the exchange of comments. I’m quite aware of the plight of women in India. It is so ingrained in the Culture, it will take generations to change. Even women to it to other women, all in the name of promoting the status quo and preserving caste, status, position, family ties. Or whatever insane twisted reason it could be. The problem is global, however. All countries have their own pink skeletons in their closets.

Thanks for sharing the white ribbon and what it symbolizes. Everyday, women and those who can not defend themselves fall victims to another’s cruelty and evil intentions. It has to stop. They need to be heard. Justice needs to be served fast and fair. Together, we all can make a difference one day at a time. God bless…
